Named by Food and Wine Magazine as one of America’s Best New Chefs in 2005, Executive Chef Seth Bixby Daugherty has been a lifelong student of food. Daugherty pursued a culinary degree after high school, taking cooking classes at Cobleskill Technical College and subsequently enrolling in the Culinary Institute of America. After working at the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington D.C., Daugherty served as an opening sous-chef for the Four Seasons Hotel in New York City and had the opportunity to work at New York’s Le Bernardin. Chef Seth also opened Paul’s Creekside Grill in the Hotel at the Inn at Silvercreek (Colorado) before relocating to Minneapolis where he worked as chef of D’Amico Cucina for three years, and later opened and acted as executive chef for Graves 601 Hotel.

In addition to his outstanding culinary achievements, Chef Seth cofounded the Real Food Initiatives in 2006, an organization that a partners with local health experts to improve school food programs and teach kids about food, wellness, and nutrition. In conjunction with the University of Minnesota, Real Food Initiatives and Chef Seth helped launch Share Our Strength’s Cooking Matters in Minnesota, and has been active in the First Lady’s Chefs Move to Schools initiative since its founding in 2010.
